Expand the capabilities of your GDS installation

Manage daily workshop activities, create invoices, maintain accurate vehicle records and more with software modules integrated into the GDS platform.

Our modules are optional extras, and allow you to customise your software with the exact tools you need to save time. Choose one or several, depending on your workshops requirements. Our options include:

  • Accounts link: integrating with your accounting software

    We offer an accounts link to Sage 50c, Sage BCA (Business Cloud Accounts), Xero and Quickbooks Online. This enables you to send invoices and customer records from GDS to your accounting software to keep all of your data aligned. 

  • Online backup: because you just never know

    Every day, at a time specified by you, a GDS module can create a backup of all of your information. That way, if your server suffers a hardware failure, we’ve got your back. Well, backup. 

  • Check sheets on the go: saving time, every day

    Our eVHC app allows your technicians to complete check sheets on the go. It syncs information between the device and the GDS program – and you can take pictures and upload them to your GDS program, too. 

  • Tech Times: mechanic efficiency, guaranteed

    The Tech Times module enables you to keep accurate records of the time your mechanics spend working on vehicles. That way, you can run reports to check their efficiency and total labour hours for a specific period. 

  • Online Booking System: saving time for you and your customers

    With the GDS Online Booking System, your customers can visit your website and make their own bookings. They can choose their preferred time and date – and the service they need – which you can then accept or rearrange for a more convenient time. 

  • Postcode lookup: speeding up your data entry

    Creating customer records can be a slow process. Speed up the data entry with our postcode lookup module, which accesses address information and adds it to the customer record. 

  • Vehicle lookup: ensuring your records are accurate

    A GDS module that provides access to a third-party website connected to the DVLA, meaning you can access vehicle information to create accurate records. It will also add additional information, such as fuel details and the last owner in a second tab. 

  • SMS updates: keeping your customers informed

    Our SMS system enables you to send a message to your customer when it’s time to collect their vehicle. You can also remind them when it’s time for an MOT or service. 

  • Marketing module: personalising your communication

    Our marketing module helps you design marketing campaigns using specific criteria based on customer and vehicle information. You can then send emails and text messages, as well as generate letters for your customers. 

  • Vehicle sales: managing your stock and your sales

    Our vehicle sales module enables you to keep stock records of your vehicles and generate Vehicle Sales Invoices when you need to, too. The vehicle sales module will also handle VAT Qualifying and Margin Scheme Sales. 

  • Barcode scanning: saving time, zap by zap

    By using a plug-and-play USB barcode scanner in conjunction with the Tech Times module and Parts system, you can use barcodes to scan the mechanics onto job sheets and start the clock. You can also add parts to sales documents by scanning barcodes on the parts and adding them to the Parts Section, too. 

  • Enhanced Stock Control: managing your inventory better than ever

    Over and above basic stock control, our Enhanced Stock Control module enables you to create purchase orders and return notes directly from GDS. You can also keep better track of stock using the ‘movements in’ and ‘movements out’ tab on stock parts records. 

  • Making Tax Digital

    Our software is authorised to use Making Tax Digital, meaning our customers can upload their VAT Summary straight to their online tax account. 

  • Attachments: keeping everything in one place

    We have a module that enables our customers to attach documents and files to customer accounts and vehicle records. All records are saved to a shared folder on the server, and other client machines can be connected to access the attachments.
